Extensions relieve congestion on popular old bridge
Workers building the new bridge-fishing platforms on the old Tom's Harbor Cut Bridge encountered one big problem. “It is so incredibly beautiful down there that it's hard to keep your head on the job,” said John Kato Sr., project manager for the family-owned Otak Group Inc., a marine construction firm.
Despite the allure of the view - and a gusty spring that caused work to be halted several days when gale-force winds were recorded - the $658,500 project near Duck Key to build a dozen fishing platforms wrapped up in three months, well ahead of the state's deadline. READ MORE >>
